Sharon Wright

Sharon Wright’s appearance on Dragon’s Den was a master class in how to spot a gap in the market and gain investment.

In the five-year history of the show, it is hard to remember a more perfect pitch than that of Sharon. In fact, Sharon’s presentation is recognised as the best ever in the Den. She demonstrated her invention Magnamole which allows cables to be safely threaded between cavity walls. In dealing with a major telecoms company she estimated that by supplying their engineers with the product she will save them £6.5 million per year in downtime alone.

The UK media labelled her ‘The Dragon Slayer’ and things only seemed to be going one way when the single mother left the Den with more money than she asked for.

Unfortunately, for Sharon this is where the fairy tale ended. She has been plastered all over the national media and Twitter for her major spat with one of the investing Dragons. As a result of the national coverage her Den investment and public falling out has been given, she has written a book, ‘The Mother of Invention’ based on her experiences with Magnamole, the Dragons and how it affected her health, her relationship with her daughter and how it almost cost her life.
